A St. Helena picnic institution
V. Sattui traces to 1885, when Vittorio Sattui founded it in San Francisco; it closed during Prohibition and was reopened in St. Helena in 1976 by his great-grandson Dario Sattui. 2026 marks 50 years in the valley.
The Italian-style stone winery anchors two-and-a-half acres of shaded picnic grounds and a large marketplace deli — one of Napa's most popular, family-friendly stops.
What you'll taste
The estate pours a broad lineup, from Cabernet Sauvignon and reserve reds to whites, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines — sold only at the winery or online. Walk-ins are welcome, but weekend reservations are wise, and the on-site deli makes it the valley's classic picnic stop.
Worth knowing: One of Napa's most-visited wineries; its founder's descendant also built nearby Castello di Amorosa.
