California's Oldest Family Winery
C.H. Wente planted his first vines in 1883, and the winery has run continuously under the same family ever since, the oldest of its kind in the United States. The estate planted the Livermore Valley's first Chardonnay in 1908, and the Wente clone remains one of the most widely planted in California.
The Arroyo Road estate pairs a tasting lounge with a restaurant and a golf course set against the foothills. Long lawns, a barrel-aged cave, and a summer concert series make it a place to settle in rather than pass through.

Seated flights center on the estate Chardonnay and Bordeaux reds in the Tasting Lounge, with cave tours available; reservations are recommended though walk-ins are accommodated.
